Coaching and Officials Training
We cannot wait for someone else to develop the game for us. We will do it ourselves. In 2027 Top 10 Development will host specialised clinics, workshops and a national certification course for referees, table officials, statisticians, administrators and coaches, as part of our commitment to basketball skills training and development in South Africa.
Referees
For new and developing referees: build consistent decisions, confident communication and the habits needed to manage a game professionally.
Table officials
For scorers, assistant scorers, timers and shot-clock operators: practise a coordinated scorebench that supports accurate, well-run games.
Coaches
For school, club and community coaches: turn knowledge of the game into purposeful teaching, safer practice and better player development.
Stats officials
For statisticians and digital scorebench teams: learn to observe, record and check game data that players and coaches can trust.
Administrators & organisers
For the people who plan and host tournaments and leagues: build a practical operations plan, with city and municipal requirements checked before event day.
Many high school coaches and officials are not yet certified. Better-trained coaches and officials develop the game and grow skills for the future. Sunday workshops award a Top 10 Development Certificate of Competence, and the 13–15 August 2027 Coaching Course at SAHETI School in Bedfordview, Johannesburg will be certified by Basketball South Africa and FIBA.
