Nominations close: direct invitations now underway

Open nominations for the Top 10 Tournament have officially closed. Thank you to every parent, player, coach and fan who put a school forward — the response has been outstanding.

Nine schools were nominated across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape, and ESCA are already confirmed after their third straight St Peter's Tournament title.

Stage two: direct invitations

The selection committee has now moved into the invitation stage. Invitations are going out directly to schools that have won regional and national tournaments this season, judged on results, strength of competition and the standard of their programme.

Bringing in the Cape

A big focus of this stage is the Western Cape. With Johannesburg and KwaZulu-Natal already strongly represented, we want the final field to look like the whole country. Leading Cape programmes will be approached directly so that the Top 10 is a genuine national showcase rather than a regional one.

What happens next

The final ten teams and the official pool draw will be announced here and on our social channels. Until then, the fixtures published on this site remain provisional.

Tip-off is 2 December 2026 at Mandeville Sports Club, Johannesburg.
