The Cathedral: Why Mandeville Sports Club is the Ultimate Stage

When you assemble the ten best teams in the country, ordinary facilities simply will not do. The Top 10 Tournament demands an arena with character, pedigree and an atmosphere that turns every possession into a battle. That arena is Mandeville Sports Club in Johannesburg.
A legacy of sporting excellence Mandeville is not just another indoor court; it is an institution in South African sport. For decades it has been synonymous with elite competition, high-performance training and community sporting heritage.
Its floor has hosted some of the most fiercely contested indoor battles the city has seen. Across all of the basketball categories, from Wheelchair to local leagues, professional and International competition, it's the most icon basketball venue in the country.
Boasting the finest FIBA approved facilities in the country, the hardwood floor, glass backboards, gigantic scoreboard and world-class arena, it's every basketball player's dream to play there.
The 4x10 stop-start furnace
The tournament structure leaves nowhere to hide. Across three days, 2 to 4 December 2026, 24 fixtures run on a relentless 65-minute turnaround:
10-minute warm-up before every game
Four 10-minute quarters of stop-start game time
5-minute half time
No lunchtime break, running from 10:00 through to the evening Mandeville's intimate seating and acoustics create an awesome amphitheatre effect. With spectators, coaches and rival squads right along the sidelines, every block, basket and fast break echoes off the rafters.
When the arena lights go up on Wednesday, 2 December, there will be no louder, more intense court in the country.
