Gauteng Powerhouses: The Battle for Provincial Supremacy

Gauteng is home to the deepest pool of contenders on the Top 10 shortlist - public and independent schools from Johannesburg and Pretoria who have met on courts across the province for years, but never with a national title on the line.

Familiar rivals, a new stage

Programmes such as St Stithians College, St John's College, Pretoria Boys High School and King Edward VII School headline a provincial group that also includes ESCA - the first school confirmed for the tournament.

Home-court advantage?

With the tournament at Mandeville Sports Club in Johannesburg, Gauteng schools will have the shortest trip. Whether that translates into results is for the court to decide.
