Three-peat royalty: ESCA confirmed as the first Top 10 team
ESCA are officially in. Fresh from a third consecutive St Peter's Basketball Tournament title, the side have accepted their nomination and become the first confirmed team for the Top 10 Tournament at Mandeville Sports Club from 2 to 4 December 2026.
Back to back to back
Three years. Three titles. One standard. ESCA's latest St Peter's crown in September 2026 completes a hat-trick that speaks to the depth, discipline and commitment of this group. Few school programmes in the country have sustained that level over three seasons.
Khaleb Baumann named MVP
Guard Khaleb Baumann capped the campaign by being named Most Valuable Player of the tournament, the standout individual performance in a side that has made winning a habit.
What it means for December
ESCA arrive in Johannesburg as one of the form teams of the national school basketball calendar. Nine teams have now been nominated and one place remains open, with invitations going to the top sides who have won tournaments nationwide. The final Top 10 and the official pool draw will be announced here and on @top10tournament.
Congratulations to the players, coaches and families behind the three-peat. We will see you at Mandeville.
